Availability versioning — plan future working hours
Plan future versions of availability blocks in Mavify. Learn how to prepare seasonal hours and review the effect on existing bookings.

You want to start earlier next month or change your Thursday finish time. In Mavify, you can plan a future version of a selected availability block. Clients see the hours matching the session date.
Changing hours needs a date and a booking check
Availability covers bookings for both the next few days and later dates. Changing it requires a start date for the new hours and a review of bookings already accepted.
Platforms use different mechanisms: weekly hours, date overrides, special days or future block versions. Choose a method for the change rather than assuming every tool applies it immediately.
Updating hours on the start date
If you add Saturdays only when the new schedule starts, clients cannot see those sessions earlier. Shortening a day that already has bookings also requires checking what happens to those sessions.
Reminders for future changes
Switching hours manually requires remembering each change date. Planned versions let you prepare changes earlier. Date-specific overrides can also be a suitable option, depending on the tool and scenario.
Bookings accepted before the change
A new schedule should not accidentally leave active bookings outside availability. Review conflicts and dashboard messages before saving. Planning ahead does not remove the need to resolve them.

The solution: availability versioning with an effective date
Select an availability block and plan its new version from a chosen date. You can change its hours or end its availability. Other blocks are edited separately.
The system selects the block version matching the session date. Once changes are saved, clients can browse future sessions with the new hours today.
How it works, step by step
Prepare a future change for a specific block:
1. Open your availability settings
Open weekly availability and select the block whose hours you want to change. A day can contain several blocks separated by a break.
2. Plan a change to the selected block
Set the new hours or deactivate the block, and choose the change’s start date. The block keeps its weekday. An additional day requires a separate block; breaks require splitting the hours appropriately.
3. Review bookings and save
Review conflict messages before saving. Repeat for other blocks if you are changing more of the week. Once saved, available hours follow the version matching each session’s date.
Examples of everyday changes
Versioning is useful for changing a single day or time, not only for switching between seasons.
You can plan earlier Monday starts or deactivate a Saturday block from May. Add a new Thursday as a separate block with the appropriate start date. Account for breaks by splitting availability.
Changes saved in advance are used when clients browse future dates. They do not have to wait until the first day of the new schedule to book an available session.
Example: summer and winter hours coexisting
For example, you work 9:00–18:00 in winter and start at 7:00 in summer. Prepare future versions of the relevant blocks from May 1. If breaks change too, plan the block layout.
You can plan further versions from October 1 to return to winter hours. Dates apply to a specific year; this is not an automatic annual season switch.
A client browsing May in April sees the summer hours if the changes have been saved and sessions are available. April sessions still use the earlier versions.
Prepare several periods in advance
You can prepare summer hours, a return to winter hours and exam-period changes. The number of operations depends on the blocks and the scope of the changes.
You do not have to make these edits on each period’s start date. Setup has no guaranteed duration: reviewing bookings and arranging breaks may take additional work.
You can coordinate block changes with a future service version, such as a new price from the same date. These are separate changes that need separate checks.
What can you schedule?
A future block version can change supported fields, including hours and active status. Prepare new days and breaks by adding and splitting blocks appropriately. This is not a single snapshot of the whole week.
You can edit or remove a future change, but active bookings are still checked. If a client booked during added hours, removing those hours may require resolving a conflict first.
Check the effect on existing bookings
If the new block ends before an already booked session, choosing a change date does not resolve the conflict. The dashboard checks whether active bookings remain within available hours and can block saving.
Before changing hours, review affected sessions and decide how to handle their bookings. Manually adding a session outside availability is a separate scenario; it does not mean every availability change can be saved without checks.
What about prices and service parameters?
Prices, duration and service locations can also be planned through future versions. See service versioning. For hybrid classes, see group capacity strategies.
How Mavify compares to other tools
This compares specific planning workflows, not overall platform quality. Official sources were reviewed on October 7, 2026. “Not confirmed” means these sources did not establish the feature, not that it is absent. Features may depend on the plan.
